Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that gas supplies to the European Union via Ukraine were currently impossible. He was responding to a request to comment on a WSJ report about attempts by US negotiators to arrange such a scheme.

“For now, it is hardly possible to talk about this. The situation on the ground itself speaks more than eloquently to the impossibility of implementing such plans at present. But we will see what happens in the future”, Peskov said, TASS reports.

“Everything will depend on the willingness of buyers, the willingness of sellers and the capabilities of sellers. Because, as you know, the gas market is much larger than the European market, although the European market is a premium market”, he added.
