In the new episode, Siarhei Pukst continues to recall his trips to Finland and tries to make sense of things that initially seemed to him like manifestations of Nordic reserve: the absence of small talk, restraint and an emphasis on personal independence.
In this episode, Pukst talks about life in an ordinary Finnish family, recalls his introduction to the designs of Alvar Aalto and reflects on why functionality can be a form of care, and respect for a person can be expressed not in words but in concrete actions.
“Pukst in the North” is a documentary series by Reform.news about the ties between independent Belarus and the Nordic countries through personal stories, music, literature, art and cultural exchanges. The project consists of five episodes. New episodes are released every Wednesday.
The project was created by Reform.news with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
