Belarus was visited by at least 1.5 million tourists from Russia last year. The figures were given on CTV by National Tourism Agency Director Kiryl Masharski.
“I don’t want to speculate. For example, in collective accommodation facilities in 2025, we know that we had 1.5 million Russians. The number of organized tourists overall, including those from other countries, is around 650,000, but those are organized tourists. You rightly noted that we have a very large flow of unorganized tourists. We need to work so that we can see them and understand where they are going and what interests them”, he said.
According to him, visitors to Belarus are no longer concentrated exclusively in the capital.
“They are now interested in agroecotourism — this is a global trend, and we will develop and scale up this trend. Because everyone lives in concrete jungles, experiences such serious pressure, and everyone goes out into nature to have a good time. We simply have ideal conditions for this. We have a huge number of protected areas, unique forests and nature reserves where people can recover and undergo emotional rehabilitation”, he added.
