A fire broke out at an industrial facility in Russia’s Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug following a drone attack. Regional Governor Ruslan Kukharuk reported the incident without specifying which facility was involved.

“A fire broke out at an industrial facility in Surgut District as a result of a drone attack. Emergency services are working at the scene. Specialists are currently assessing the extent and nature of the damage,” he wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ claims that Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the Viktor Chernomyrdin Surgut Gas Condensate Stabilisation Plant. The facility is located approximately 2,400 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.

The plant is part of Gazprom’s operations. It processes gas condensate and produces motor and aviation fuel. Its designed processing capacity is 12 million tonnes of feedstock per year.
