Minsk Residents Are Visiting Municipal Bathhouses More Often

The public sections of Minsk’s municipal bathhouses were visited by 178,342 people in January–May 2026. This was reported by Anatolii Marchanka, director of the City Bathhouses municipal enterprise, Minsk-Novosti reports.

During the same period last year, the bathhouses recorded 173,363 visitors, nearly 5,000 fewer.

According to Marchanka, about 80% of the increase resulted from the transfer of the Malinauka Sports and Recreation Complex on Kasmanautau Street to the enterprise in September 2025. He attributed the remaining 20% to cooler weather and the late start of the summer cottage season.

“At the same time, we lost a small share of our regular customers who enjoy swimming pools. They chose the newly opened Mandarin facilities in Loshytsa and Kamennaya Horka. In general, the number of visitors declines by 25–30% during the spring and summer compared with the autumn and winter seasons due to vacations, work at summer cottages, and school and university holidays,” he said.

The City Bathhouses enterprise operates 12 public facilities. During the summer, some bathhouses switch to reduced operating hours, with the Sokol Bathhouse Complex becoming the first to do so this year. The Laznia, Sukhareva, Bathhouse No. 1, and Bathhouse No. 7 bath and wellness complexes continue to operate with virtually no changes.
