Minsk Police Investigate Reports of Suspected Animal Abuse

Minsk police are investigating reports of possible animal cruelty by a 26-year-old Minsk resident who was previously convicted of a similar offence.

The Minsk City Executive Committee’s Main Internal Affairs Directorate said the investigation was prompted by a series of online posts about a man described in the publications as an animal abuser. He was convicted of animal cruelty in 2022.

The directorate said the man had already been living outside Minsk for some time, while reports that he had taken an animal from a volunteer have not yet been confirmed.

Police urged the public not to spread unverified information. Anyone with reliable information about offences allegedly committed by the man is asked to contact the operational duty service of their district police department or call 102.
