Polish and Latvian border guards have reported new attempts by migrants to cross the border from Belarus.
On Sunday in Latvia, 15 attempts to cross the border were prevented. This is the highest daily figure since the beginning of the year.
Poland’s Border Guard registered more than 10 attempts to cross the border between March 13 and 15. Polish border guards said that on Friday a group of migrants tried to cross the Volkuszanka River. In total, more than 70 attempts to cross the border have been recorded since the beginning of the year.
Against the backdrop of improving weather conditions, border guards in neighboring EU countries are increasingly reporting attempts by migrants to cross the border. In January and February such incidents were practically not recorded.
