The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus has identified cases of price increases for pork and beef without approval from the Commission on State Price Regulation under the Council of Ministers.
According to the ministry, the cases involved more than 20 organizations in the Vitsyebsk, Homiel, Minsk and Mahiliou regions that sold meat products in violation of the established pricing procedure, with a total value of 1.3 million rubles.
The ministry reminded that Council of Ministers Resolution No. 713 prohibits increasing prices for raw milk, pigs and cattle supplied for processing without the relevant approval.
Agricultural producers were ordered to remedy the violations. Following inspections, prices were brought into line with the established requirements. Administrative offence reports were drawn up against those responsible. The violators were also subject to administrative penalties.
