“The German people achieved what was practically impossible — they reunited divided families and eliminated former borders. Belarus understands very well how difficult this process was,” the Lukashenka press service quoted him as saying. “After the end of World War II, which brought death and grief to millions of Belarusians, significant progress was made in reconciling our peoples and laying the foundation for peaceful coexistence and cooperation.”
According to Lukashenka, the actions of “certain politicians” in Germany and other Western countries “undermine the achievements” of previous years. He expressed hope that the people of Belarus and Germany would be able to overcome current challenges and “defend their right to live and be friends” in a peaceful Europe.
“Our country has always been and remains open to constructive dialogue. I invite German citizens to visit Belarus under the visa-free entry regime, so that they can experience the hospitality and peaceful nature of Belarusians and see the beauty of Belarusian land with their own eyes,” he said, wishing the German people “confidence in a bright future, happiness and prosperity.”
