Alyaksandr Lukashenka said in the Drybin District that in addition to the real Oreshnik missile system, there are also “decoy” ones. Therefore, it will be difficult to strike it if neighboring countries consider it a “legitimate target.”

According to Lukashenka’s press service, his remarks were prompted by statements from the Ukrainian side that NATO should consider the Oreshnik missile system a legitimate target.

“This is not even an information повод. It is outright stupidity, and fools are talking about it. I am not saying that tomorrow we will strike Vilnius, Warsaw or Kyiv with this Oreshnik. God forbid. That is not our task. We need to protect our country. And so that Oreshnik does not strike, do not interfere with us. Not from Ukraine, not from Poland, not from Lithuania, not from Latvia. Let’s resolve issues in a human way,” Lukashenka began with a warning.

He also advised neighboring countries “not to wag their tongues.”

“Let them consider it a legitimate target. They were outraged, they cried, now they have gone quiet — about what I consider a legitimate target for the Armed Forces of Belarus. I am not threatening. So that they do not grab onto this again and start it all over. Do you think that if they consider targets on Belarusian territory legitimate, I will sleep and just watch? I can reach 70 km, 200 km. We have the means to reach them. Therefore, I would advise them not to wag their tongues and not to yap. If they consider Oreshnik a legitimate target — please,” he continued.

Lukashenka then stressed that hitting Oreshnik would not be easy because it is a mobile system.

“There will be a dozen decoys. Ten vehicles will go out on the route. From above they will see ten Oreshniks. But there will be only one. For any poison there is always an antidote. And we proceed from that. Yes, it is a little more expensive. Thanks to Putin — this is his personal help. I asked him and he did it. And we paid money for it. Thank you! But we bought this weapon. And what, I do not consider some Ukrainian battery near Kyiv a legitimate target. Even a Polish or German one. Even if they are aimed at us,” he said.

It should be recalled that Oreshnik was announced to have entered combat duty at the end of last year. At that time the Defense Ministry published a video that, however, did not show the launcher itself, only auxiliary vehicles. The base for Oreshnik is believed to have been created in the Krychau District.
