Lukashenka Says Belarus-Zimbabwe Relations Are Developing Dynamically

Alyaksandr Lukashenka congratulated Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Independence Day and said that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically.

“This holiday symbolizes the courage, resilience, and unbreakable will of the Zimbabwean people, who, in their struggle for freedom and the right to determine their own destiny, opened a new chapter in the history of their state,” his press service quoted him as saying.

According to Lukashenka, Belarus is well aware of Mnangagwa’s “personal contribution” to the “formation and progress of modern Zimbabwe, the consistent defense of national interests, ensuring the country’s sustainable development, and improving the well-being of its citizens.”

“I note with satisfaction that relations between Minsk and Harare have recently taken on a truly dynamic character. The signing of the Roadmap for Strategic Cooperation and Partnership for 2026–2030, the successful implementation of joint projects in agricultural mechanization, and the expansion of bilateral contacts in healthcare, education, industry, and other areas are convincing evidence of our countries’ interest in further deepening cooperation,” he said.

In Lukashenka’s opinion, “Belarusian-Zimbabwean ties, based on trust, respect, and a practical orientation, will continue to strengthen for the benefit of the friendly peoples of both countries.”

He wished Mnangagwa good health and success in state affairs, and wished all Zimbabweans peace and a happy life.
