A large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces has begun in Belarus. It will be comprehensive in nature, State Secretary of the Security Council Alyaksandr Valfovich said.
“On the president’s instruction, a large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces has been launched. It will be comprehensive in nature and consist of several stages. The inspection measures are of a surprise character,” he was quoted as saying by BelTA.
Valfovich noted that the inspection is being conducted with account taken of the experience of the Russia-Ukraine war. The security of military units and countermeasures against modern means of attack, including drones, will be assessed.
According to Valfovich, the concept of the inspection was approved by Alyaksandr Lukashenka. Lukashenka will also take part in the inspection personally, although it has not been specified which units he will visit.
At present, a technical support military unit is being inspected. It is described as one of the largest in Belarus and stores various models of armoured weapons and military equipment.
Readiness inspections of the Belarusian Armed Forces are usually conducted at the beginning of the year. Last year, such an inspection began in February, in 2024 it started in March, and in 2023 the measures also began in January.
