Belarusian KGB Conducts Anti-Terrorism Drills in Pukhovichi District

The State Security Committee (KGB) is conducting exercises in the Pukhovichi District on September 29–30. They are aimed at testing the readiness of state bodies for coordination and response to acts of terrorism, Belta reported, citing the committee.

It is reported that units of the Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry, Emergency Situations Ministry, Investigative Committee, other government agencies, as well as KGB units themselves, are taking part in the drills.

The scenario of the exercises involves the use of military and other special equipment, enhanced control, and restrictions on road traffic in the area of the drills.

A year ago, the KGB conducted similar anti-terrorism exercises in the Ostrovets District.
