Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry said it will reallocate 260,000 tonnes of oil in May that will not be sent to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline, which runs, among other routes, through Belarusian territory.
“Due to adjustments to the transit schedule via the Druzhba system toward Germany (Schwedt refinery) for May 2026, the Ministry of Energy announces the planned redistribution of export oil volumes totaling 260,000 tonnes.
These volumes will be redirected through alternative and technically established routes: 100,000 tonnes to the port of Ust-Luga and 160,000 tonnes to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system.
We emphasize that changes in transportation routes do not affect the fulfillment of the annual oil production plan. The existing transport infrastructure allows Kazakhstan to fully ensure export stability and uninterrupted supply of raw materials to global markets,” Interfax quoted adviser to the minister Assel Serikpayeva as saying.
Earlier, media reports said Russia would suspend the transit of Kazakh oil via Druzhba in May. Officials at Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry acknowledged receiving such information through unofficial channels.
