Katsiaryna Vadanosava Will Not Have to Pay Polish Hospital for Her Mother’s Treatment

Television presenter and singer Katsiaryna Vadanosava has said that she will not have to pay a bill of 78,313 zlotys that a Polish hospital had sought to recover from her through the courts for the treatment of her mother, who died in January.

It emerged that the hospital had received all the necessary documents from the Office for Foreigners and that the treatment costs had already been covered. However, the medical institution filed its lawsuit before receiving the insurance documentation and subsequently failed to withdraw the claim.

“I did not sleep for three nights, I felt nauseous, had hot flashes every 10 minutes, my hands were shaking like those of a paralysed person, and I lost 3 kilograms,” Vadanosava wrote on Facebook, describing the stress she experienced.

According to her, although she will not have to pay the bill, a package of documents must still be submitted to the court because the case has not formally been withdrawn.

It was previously reported that the hospital had sought 78,313 zlotys from Vadanosava to cover the costs of her mother’s surgery, intensive care treatment and post-mortem procedures. The court also required her to provide a birth certificate within a short deadline.

Nelli Vadanosava, Katsiaryna’s mother, died on January 1, 2026, after suffering a stroke. Katsiaryna had raised funds for her mother’s treatment and funeral. After it became clear that the medical expenses would be covered by an insurance company, the remaining funds were directed to support released political prisoners.
