“The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, including the development of joint programmes within the Union State,” the Belarusian government’s press service said.
The details of the discussion on fuel and energy cooperation were not disclosed. However, Novak said yesterday that Russia would continue importing petrol at least until the end of this year. According to Russian media reports, Belarus is one of the main suppliers of the fuel. In the first nine months of the year, Russia received more than 1 million tonnes of petrol from Belarusian refineries.
The parties also discussed advancing integration. They noted that progress was being made in implementing tasks aimed at completing the formation of a common socio-economic space, creating favourable conditions for citizens to live and conduct business, increasing joint investment and implementing innovative projects.
