Around 300 historical reenactors gathered in Zelva on July 11 for the sixth edition of the “Legendary Eras” festival. The event took place near the town’s old mill.
As tradition dictates, the festival opened with a Parade of Eras. Different historical periods were presented in the main arena. The medieval period featured mounted and foot knights’ tournaments, as well as archery competitions.
The Early Modern period was represented by performances by mounted hussars and a “Scottish infantry” unit. Reenactments of events from the First and Second World Wars were also staged.
While different eras succeeded one another in the main arena, visitors could also explore historical encampments set up by participating clubs, where everyday life from past centuries was recreated with meticulous attention to detail.
The festival also featured an exhibition of weapons and military equipment, market stalls, and a traditional crafts fair. The day’s program concluded with a concert and a disco.

Several popular festivals in Belarus have been canceled this summer, including WOSTRAU in Niasvizh, Solstice in Pruzhany, and the country’s oldest historical reenactment festival, Our Grunwald.
