Government Decides Not to Award Quality Mark to Products With Geographical Indications Unrelated to Belarus

The Council of Ministers has adopted a resolution introducing amendments to the Regulations on the Procedure for Awarding the State Quality Mark.

According to the government’s press service, the changes were made in light of law enforcement and regulatory practice. In particular, the composition of the certification commission has been revised.

The State Quality Mark will also no longer be awarded to products whose names contain geographical indications that are not connected to the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

The regulations have also been amended to allow for the automation of the process of selecting applicants.
