Government Allocates Tariff Quota for Electric Vehicles Between Individuals and Companies

The Council of Ministers has allocated the EAEU tariff quota for electric vehicle imports between individuals and legal entities through Resolution No. 223 of May 5. The document was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.

Earlier, the Eurasian Economic Commission allocated Belarus a tariff quota of 20,000 electric vehicles. Belarus may import them duty-free.

The Council of Ministers has now decided that legal entities will be allowed to import no more than 13,800 electric vehicles under the quota this year, while individuals will be allowed to import no more than 6,200 electric vehicles.

The State Customs Committee has announced the remaining quota available for individuals and legal entities, taking into account electric vehicles already imported this year.

“Taking into account previously declared vehicles as of May 7, the remaining number of electric vehicles that may be declared under the preferential procedure amounts to: 8,091 units for legal entities and 3,673 units for individuals,” the committee said.
