The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has vowed to respond to a Russian drone strike on the SBU Central Office building in Kyiv.

The SBU said the drone was aimed at the office of SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad. He was not injured in the strike.

“As for the damaged building, it will definitely be restored. And the Russians will receive a painful response to their strikes — more special operations, exposed agent networks and destroyed enemies,” the SBU said.

Poklad reported to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on preparations for retaliatory actions in response to Russian strikes.

“The geography of the response has been determined. The time will be chosen so that there is a result,” Zelenskyy said.

As reported earlier, on the afternoon of September 4, Russia attacked Kyiv with drones. One of them hit the SBU building. An 18th-19th-century historic building on the grounds of the “Sofiia Kyivska” national preserve was also damaged.
