Four athletes from Belarus and six from Russia will be allowed to compete at the Winter Paralympic Games under their national flags, the International Paralympic Committee told AFP.
The Belarusian athletes will compete in cross-country skiing. Valyantsina Birylo, Lidziya Loban, Darya Fedkovich and Raman Svirydenka are set to take part.
Previously, Belarusian and Russian Paralympians were banned from using their national symbols due to sanctions imposed in connection with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In September 2025, the International Paralympic Committee restored the full rights of the National Paralympic Committees of Belarus and Russia and lifted restrictions on Belarusian and Russian athletes.
