Foreign-Currency Supply in Belarus Exceeded Demand by USD 330.6 Million in November

Foreign-currency supply in November exceeded demand by USD 330.6 million. Over 11 months, sales in the country surpassed purchases by nearly USD 1.4 billion, according to data from the National Bank.

Foreign-exchange market turnover in November amounted to USD 11.27 billion. It declined compared with October and became the lowest figure for the autumn months, likely due in part to the smaller number of working days.

Individuals bought USD 1.03 billion in foreign currency in November and sold USD 1.176 billion, providing a net supply of USD 144.1 million.

Banks bought USD 6.03 billion and sold USD 5.975 billion, making them net buyers by USD 54.7 million.

Non-residents purchased USD 209.4 million and sold USD 365.8 million, contributing a net supply of USD 156.4 million.

Belarusian enterprises bought USD 3.29 billion in November — their lowest monthly demand since May — and sold USD 3.37 billion. For the first time since April, Belarusian companies acted as net sellers, by USD 84.8 million.

Foreign-exchange market turnover for the 11-month period amounted to almost USD 120.5 billion.

Individuals bought USD 11.62 billion in January–November and sold USD 13.13 billion, providing a net supply of USD 1.515 billion.

Banks bought USD 63.12 billion and sold USD 63.33 billion over the same period, making them net sellers by USD 211.7 million.

Non-residents purchased USD 2.55 billion and sold USD 4.2 billion, contributing a net supply of USD 1.66 billion.

Belarusian enterprises bought USD 35.34 billion and sold USD 33.35 billion, generating net demand of USD 1.99 billion.
