Thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail are expected across Belarus today. Forecasters have raised the weather hazard level to orange.

“Today, June 22, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., thunderstorms are expected in many parts of the country. In some areas, thunderstorms may be accompanied by heavy downpours, squally winds with gusts of 15-20 m/s and hail. Thunderstorm activity is expected to persist until the end of the day. In Minsk, thunderstorms are forecast between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with squally wind gusts of 15-20 m/s in some parts of the city.”, the warning said.

The warning had previously been issued at the yellow hazard level.

Air temperatures across the country are expected to reach +24°C to +30°C today.
