On the morning of 26 February, Belarusian military forces managed to shoot down at least one drone during its flight over Homyel, Flagstok reports.
The incident occurred over the western industrial outskirts of the city. Witnesses observed a military helicopter following the drone, after which the UAV began to fall. According to preliminary information, the fire was delivered from the helicopter using small arms.
According to the outlet, more than five Shahed-136 (Geran) type drones flew over Homyel that morning. They were presumably Russian drones heading to strike Ukraine but deviated from their route for unknown reasons.
The Homyel authorities did not comment on the incident. An unofficial Telegram channel linked to Homyel ideologists threatened criminal liability for taking photos and videos of drones and military equipment.
