The first power unit of BelAES will be taken offline for scheduled preventive maintenance on January 15, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus said.
The work will include refueling nuclear fuel in the reactor core and replacing some spent fuel assemblies.
“During the scheduled preventive maintenance of the first power unit, diagnostics and technical maintenance will be carried out on more than 10,000 items of technological systems and equipment, including reactor, turbine, electrical, ventilation, automation and measurement systems. In addition, operational inspection of metal structures and welded joints will be conducted,” the ministry said.
The station’s second power unit was undergoing scheduled maintenance from November 13, 2025, to January 10.
This approach ensures an efficient work schedule for maintenance personnel and the completion of necessary technological operations within the timeframes set by regulations, the Ministry of Energy said.
