Fire Breaks Out at Homiel University, One Person Hospitalized

A fire broke out on March 4 in one of the buildings of Homiel State University named after Skaryna in Homiel. A university employee was injured, the Emergency Situations Ministry reported.

The fire occurred in a four-storey building on Kirova Street. Emergency services discovered the fire in a server room on the third floor.

People inside the building evacuated to the street on their own. A university employee tried to extinguish the fire himself and suffered burns. He was hospitalized.

The fire has been extinguished. The cause of the fire is being established.
