The Prosecutor’s Office of the Luninets District has opened a criminal case against the chief executive officer of a foreign legal entity. He is accused of abuse of office resulting in damage on a particularly large scale under Part 3 of Article 426 of the Criminal Code.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the legal entity was established in 2022 by one of the business companies of the Luninets District to promote and sell its products.
Investigators believe that the CEO sold the supplied products at understated prices to organizations of which he himself was the founder. Decisions on such transactions were made unilaterally and were not reviewed at a general meeting of participants, which was classified as an abuse of authority.
“The unlawful actions caused damage to the Belarusian enterprise and led to the formation of overdue external accounts receivable exceeding 400,000 rubles,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Prosecutors also concluded that the situation became possible due to weakened oversight by officials of the Belarusian enterprise. Their actions will also be given a legal assessment. For now, the prosecutor’s office has issued an order to the company’s supervisory board, as a result of which the director and the state representative in the company’s management bodies have been subjected to disciplinary liability.
