The Russian missile system Oreshnik will be put on combat duty in Belarus in December this year, Natalya Eismont, the press secretary of Aleksandr Lukashenko, told TASS.
“The process of preparing conditions for the deployment of the Oreshnik system in the Republic of Belarus is being completed. In December of this year, it will be put on combat duty, so all the discussions about whether the Oreshnik will or will not be deployed are now over,” Eismont said.
“Today, the president received a report from the military on this matter. The military confirmed — it will happen in December,” Lukashenko’s press secretary told RIA Novosti.
Earlier today, Aleksandr Lukashenko described the deployment of the Oreshnik system in Belarus as a response to regional escalation.
