Eight More Months Added To Prison Term Of Father Of Four From Minsk

Pavel Kuntsevich, who was sentenced in 2024 to four years in prison under an article on calls for sanctions, has been given an additional eight months of imprisonment, the Dissidentby initiative reported.

In January 2024, the Minsk City Court sentenced Kuntsevich to four years in prison under Article 361 of the Criminal Code (“Calls for sanctions or other actions aimed at harming Belarus’s national security”). He was serving his sentence at Penal Colony No. 15 in Mahilyow.

In 2025, a new criminal case was opened against Kuntsevich under an article on malicious disobedience to the prison administration. He received an additional eight months of imprisonment. Kuntsevich was transferred to Penal Colony No. 8 in Orsha.

Kuntsevich is 39 years old. He lived in Minsk and studied psychology at the Sakharov Minsk State Environmental Institute. He previously ran a retail stall at the Chervensky Market, and prior to his detention earned a living manufacturing greenhouses. He has a wife and four children.
