Drone Carrying Belarusian Cigarettes Intercepted in Lithuania

Another drone carrying contraband cigarettes entered Lithuania from Belarus, the Lithuanian Border Guard Service reported.

Lithuanian border guards spotted the drone near the village of Daugidonys (Šalčininkai District) on Sunday afternoon. It was brought down using drone-jamming equipment.

The crashed drone was found in a field. Attached to the homemade aircraft was a package containing 200 packs of NZ Gold cigarettes bearing Belarusian excise stamps. The value of the cigarettes is estimated at 1,102 euros.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated.
