The Defense Ministry has published photographs from military training attended by “negligent agricultural enterprise specialists” called up on the orders of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
The ministry said the agricultural workers called up are serving in one of the special operations units, where they are practicing tactical training elements at a military range.
“During the training, they completed a psychological obstacle course, underwent drills involving BTR-70MB1 armored personnel carriers and practiced evacuating units by armored personnel carriers to a concentration area,” the statement said.
They will later be sent to the border to carry out “training and combat tasks.”
Earlier, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that about 500 people had been called up and formed into battalion tactical groups. During a visit to Vileyka, he proposed using them to return land in the area to the crop rotation cycle.
