Officers of the Economic Crime Unit in Hrodna Region, during an inspection of one of the farms in Shchuchyn District, discovered a mass death of cattle. Subsequent inspections of other divisions of the same organisation confirmed the presence of serious violations of animal welfare requirements, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.
It was established that the 38-year-old director of the farm had ignored numerous orders from supervisory bodies to eliminate deficiencies. During repeated inspections, similar violations were recorded.
As a result of the manager’s official negligence, cattle losses amounted to 728 head, including 421 young animals. The damage caused to the organisation is estimated at around one million roubles.
The prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal case against the official.
