After an additional review, the team of Pavel Liber and the Election Commission for the Coordination Council elections found no grounds to terminate cooperation with Sumsub, the company responsible for voter verification.
“The technical team led by Pavel Liber, together with Election Commission representative Aliena Prykhodzka, conducted an additional assessment of the risks associated with the use of the KYC provider Sumsub in connection with recent public discussions and media publications.
As part of this review, the team examined publicly available information, official company statements, its security and compliance practices, as well as additional clarifications provided by Sumsub. Based on the results of the assessment, no facts or circumstances were identified that would require the termination or suspension of cooperation with the company,” the official statement of the Coordination Council Election Commission says.
The Election Commission states that Sumsub works with thousands of clients worldwide, complies with international data protection and information security standards, including GDPR requirements, and regularly undergoes independent audits in the fields of information security and regulatory compliance.
The Coordination Council elections will take place within the previously established timeframe — from May 11 to May 17.
It should be recalled that Nasha Niva drew attention to the Russian roots of Sumsub’s founders and to data leaks linked to the company. Sumsub responded to the publication and stated that it denies ties to Russia.
