Communications Ministry Counts Internet and Mobile Subscribers in 2025

The Ministry of Communications and Informatization has summed up the development of telecommunications infrastructure in 2025.

Last year, 3.81 million subscribers were connected to Beltelecom’s IMS platform.

In 2025, the external internet access channel was increased by 980 Gbit/s and now stands at 5,200 Gbit/s.

As of January 1, almost 3.16 million subscribers were connected via passive optical network (GPON) technology with data transmission speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. Their number increased by 105.8 thousand over the year.

Fixed broadband internet access was used by 3.4 million subscribers, an increase of 118.6 thousand year on year. Fixed broadband internet penetration reached 37.36 per 100 residents.

“As of January 1, the total number of mobile cellular subscribers in the republic amounted to 11,923 thousand. Mobile cellular penetration reached 130.89 subscribers per 100 residents. Second- and third-generation mobile cellular services cover 99.3% and 98.6% of the country’s territory respectively, where 99.9% of the population lives.

The LTE mobile cellular network and services based on it were actively developed.

From January to December 2025, coverage of territory and population by LTE mobile cellular services reached 94.5% and 99.6% respectively,” the ministry said.

Wireless broadband internet access was used by 10.01 million subscribers, or 109.91 subscribers per 100 residents.
