Coale Responds to Question About Pause in Political Prisoner Releases and Possible Visit to Minsk

U.S. presidential envoy John Coale said that the process of releasing Belarusian political prisoners has not been halted. He was responding to a question on X from Radio Svaboda journalist Dźmitry Hurnievič.

“Mr. Coale, has the process of releasing political prisoners been suspended? When can we expect you in Minsk?” Hurnievič asked.

“No,” Coale replied briefly.

It should be recalled that Reuters published an article yesterday in which Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya told the news agency that “the next releases were postponed for a while.”
