Charges Against the Mirontsava Family From Minsk Revealed

Lukerya Mirontsava and her daughter Veranika Mirontsava have been detained under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code. This was reported by former political prisoner and TUT.by editor Maryna Zolatava.

“Lukerya and Veranika Mirontsava are being held in pre-trial detention. They are the mother and sister of Viktoryia and Stasia Mirontsava, who have already served their sentences. Lukerya and Veranika are charged under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code — ATTEMPTED assistance to extremist activity”, she wrote.

Their detention became known in December 2025, although no information had previously been available about the specific charges against them.

In August 2020, sisters Victoryia Mirontsava, Anastasiya Mirontsava and Aliaksandra Mirontsava stood up for citizens who were being beaten by OMON officers. Aliaksandra managed to leave the country, while Viktoryia and Anastasiya were detained in October 2020.

Anastasiya received two years in a general-regime penal colony, while Viktoryia was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. The sisters were charged under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (active participation in group actions grossly violating public order) and Article 364 of the Criminal Code (violence or threat of violence against an interior ministry officer). Viktoryia was also charged under Part 1 of Article 363 of the Criminal Code (resisting an interior ministry officer). In 2022, both sisters were released after fully serving their sentences.
