The two bus drivers injured in the drone strike in Russia’s Bryansk Region are in serious condition, Belarusian Security Council State Secretary Aliaksandr Valfovich said.
“The drone exploded in front of the bus, and the shrapnel wounded the two drivers. They are in hospital in serious condition. We hope the doctors will do everything possible to save the lives of our citizens, our drivers,” Valfovich was quoted as saying by news.by.
Valfovich added that the other people on board the bus were not injured.
Belarus’s Health Ministry had earlier reported three people injured — the two drivers and one passenger. They have been hospitalized at the Homiel Regional Clinical Hospital.
As previously reported, on the afternoon of July 2, a Belarusian tourist bus operating on the Minsk–Anapa route was struck by a drone in the Zlynka District of Russia’s Bryansk Region. There were 19 passengers on board. All Belarusian citizens were transported to the Homiel Region, while six Russian citizens remained at a temporary accommodation center in the Bryansk Region.
Russia’s Investigative Committee said the strike had been carried out by Ukrainian forces and opened a criminal case on terrorism charges.
