Broad Money Supply Increased by 2.5% in a Month

Broad money supply increased by 2.5% in May, or by 2.62 billion Belarusian rubles, reaching 106.82 billion rubles. Since the beginning of the year, it has grown by 3.8 billion rubles.

According to the National Bank, the volume of cash in circulation stood at 16.35 billion rubles as of June 1. It increased by 626.5 million rubles during the month and by 1.87 billion rubles since the start of the year.

In June, the M1 monetary aggregate, including transferable deposits, increased by 1.86 billion rubles to 39.14 billion rubles.

Money supply under the national definition rose by 2.43 billion rubles to 69.36 billion rubles.

Ruble-denominated money supply increased by 2.73 billion rubles to 72.68 billion rubles.

Foreign-currency deposits increased by $236.3 million in May to $12.16 billion. Household deposits rose by $14.2 million to $5.09 billion, while corporate deposits increased by $222.1 million to $7.07 billion.
