Belneftekhim to Draft Amendments to Traffic Rules Related to Fuel Stations

Belneftekhim and the State Traffic Inspectorate held a working meeting focused on creating conditions to eliminate queues at fuel stations.

Earlier, Alyaksandr Lukashenka had expressed outrage over social-media complaints about queues at fuel stations, allegedly caused by visitors drinking coffee instead of simply refuelling their cars. The Interior Ministry organised inspections, but found no significant violations. Fuel stations, for their part, increased staffing and adjusted their operating procedures. However, the efforts of various agencies and institutions have not ended there.

According to Belneftekhim, participants in the meeting noted the effectiveness of the joint work to minimise queues at fuel stations — both at the pumps and at cashier desks where customers pay for fuel and purchase related goods and food-service items.

They agreed on the need for a comprehensive approach involving prevention and public guidance. Updated traffic-flow schemes at fuel stations are also being considered.

Belneftekhim’s press service added that the working meeting concluded with a decision for the company to begin preparing proposals to amend the Traffic Rules in order to improve the procedures for refuelling vehicles at fuel stations.
