Belarusians will hold a rally in Vilnius against the hybrid attacks of the Lukashenka regime, the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya reported. The event will begin at 13:30 on 7 December near the Belarusian Embassy in Vilnius, at 13 Mindaugo Street.
The protest was prompted by new incidents involving meteorological balloons which, according to the Lithuanian side, are being launched from Belarus and are regularly entering the country’s airspace, creating risks for flights.
“In recent weeks we have all seen reports about meteorological balloons launched by the Lukashenka regime that enter Lithuanian airspace. This creates risks for flights: the country is forced to close its airport because of threats in the sky, thousands of people cannot get home and spend hours in airports due to cancelled or delayed flights — including Belarusians. We know that Lukashenka’s aggressive policy does not reflect the position of the people. Our nation has always treated other countries with respect and wants to maintain good-neighbourly relations,” the Office said.
The organisers state that the aggressive policy of the official Minsk does not reflect the position of the Belarusian people. According to them, Belarusians seek good-neighbourly relations with Lithuania and oppose any provocations.
