Russia returned 2 cubic metres of timber to Belarus after it was transported without the required documents.
A vehicle carrying hardwood lumber was stopped in Russia’s Bryansk region on April 29. An inspection found that the cargo was being transported without phytosanitary documents.
The timber was sent for examination, which did not detect any quarantine pests. Despite this, on May 4 the shipment was denied entry into Russia and returned to Belarus. The carrier was held administratively liable, the Russian agricultural watchdog reported.
