The Belarusian Special Purpose Police Unit (OMON) has acquired robotic dogs. One of the units was demonstrated today to a delegation of security officials from Myanmar.
A delegation led by Tin Aung San, National Security Adviser and Minister at the Office of the President of Myanmar, visited the Minsk OMON base. The guests were shown how OMON officers conduct a sweep of a shopping center, rescue hostages from a train carriage, storm a building and suppress “mass unrest.”
In one of the photos, a robotic dog is walking in front of a group of OMON officers. The robot resembles the Unitree Go2 model made by Chinese company Unitree Robotics.
The Myanmar security officials were also shown a tactical and sports training complex, a shooting range and a classroom for training drone operators.
Head of the Belarusian Interior Ministry Ivan Kubrakou expressed hope for closer cooperation between the security forces of Belarus and Myanmar.
“Today you were shown only a small part of combat operations. We also have units that combat terrorism and extremism, as well as internal troops that maintain public order, escort detainees, guard correctional colonies and assist law enforcement agencies in detaining dangerous criminals. We are ready to share our experience in various areas of service,” Kubrakou said.
