https://reform.news/en/belarusian-national-bank-raises-sber-bank-s-systemic-importance/The National Bank has published its list of systemically important banks for 2027. The list remains unchanged compared with the one in force this year.
The first tier of systemic importance includes Belarusbank, Belagroprombank, Priorbank, Alfa-Bank and Sber Bank.
The second tier includes Belgazprombank, Belinvestbank, Bank BelVEB, MTBank, VTB Bank (Belarus) and BNB-Bank.
By a decision of the regulator, Sber Bank has been moved back from the second to the first tier of systemic importance. It was previously downgraded from the first to the second tier in 2025.
“Banks classified as systemically important must ensure compliance with capital adequacy requirements, the levels of which are determined taking into account the systemic importance buffer. These banks must also establish a remuneration committee within their boards of directors (supervisory boards), comprising board members and bank employees and chaired by an independent director,” the National Bank’s press service explained.
