The Belarusian Helsinki Committee has been designated an “extremist formation”. The decision was taken by the KGB on March 31. Information about it was added today to the list maintained by the Interior Ministry.
In connection with the KGB’s decision, Dzmitry Markusheuski and Pavel Levinau are mentioned. The committee’s website, social media accounts and email addresses were also added to the list.
It should be recalled that in Belarus, extremism charges are used to combat opponents of the authorities and dissent in general.
