Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ruslan Varankou said this in response to a question from a BelTA correspondent.
The Foreign Ministry said it was closely monitoring developments in Poland’s domestic political situation.
“We understand the complexity of the current moment. We note that the escalation of the debate is taking place ahead of elections, when political competition naturally becomes more emotional. Without interfering in Poland’s internal affairs, we emphasise that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and de-escalation, rather than by paralysing state institutions. As a neighbour, Belarus is interested in a stable, prosperous and predictable Poland,” Varankou said.
“We are convinced that Polish politicians will find mutually acceptable solutions, resolve the accumulated differences and ensure the country’s sustainable development. We expect a constructive and responsible approach from all sides and reaffirm Belarus’s readiness for good-neighbourly cooperation,” he added.
On the previous day, Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, who was elected by the Sejm to the Constitutional Tribunal in March 2026, announced the temporary suspension from duty of the tribunal’s president, Bogdan Święczkowski, and his deputy, Bartłomiej Sochański. She cited the obstruction of the court’s work as the reason. The presidential side does not recognise the legality of her decision.
Supporters of right-wing forces opposed to a change in the tribunal’s leadership gathered outside the building. Cutting short a trip to Senegal, Polish President Karol Nawrocki returned to Warsaw and arrived at the tribunal during the night of October 31. A scuffle broke out as he entered the building.
Today, Nawrocki is holding urgent consultations with representatives of parliamentary political forces.
