The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is investigating the causes of a mass fish die-off in Vyhanashchanskaye Lake in the Ivatsevichy district.
A special commission inspected the lake. No sources of pollution were found.
According to preliminary findings, the fish die-off was caused by hydrological factors: a drop in the lake’s water level and increased turbidity. At the time of the inspection, water transparency was less than 0.3 meters.
Specialists collected water samples for laboratory testing. Final conclusions will be made after the samples have been analyzed.
