Belarusian Customs Again Prevents Sole Proprietors From Bringing Clothing From Russia

Belarusian customs authorities continue to block the import of clothing from Russian markets. Today, the State Customs Committee reported the interception of two vehicles as part of a special operation on the Belarusian-Russian border.

Customs officers stopped two vehicles belonging to sole proprietors that were carrying more than 500 items of clothing and footwear for which there was no evidence that customs duties had been paid upon import into the Eurasian Economic Union.

“Administrative proceedings have been initiated by Homiel Customs against the sole proprietors under Article 13.12 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus,” the State Customs Committee said.

Earlier, customs authorities confiscated goods from an entire bus of entrepreneurs returning from Moscow to Homiel.
