Belarusian Community Space in Białystok Appeals for Support

The Novaja Ziamlia Hub in Białystok has found itself in a critical situation. If it fails to raise the funds needed to cover rent by the end of June, the hub will be forced to leave its current premises.

The team is in talks to obtain premises from the city of Białystok, where the rent could be approximately three times lower. However, until such a solution is secured, the future operation of the hub depends on support from the community.

The Novaja Ziamlia space is a place where Belarusians in Białystok can connect with one another, receive support, engage in civic activities, and preserve Belarusian culture and language.

The hub regularly hosts meetings, lectures, concerts, courses, activities for children and teenagers, as well as solidarity and mutual aid initiatives. Over its year and a half of operation, the hub has hosted more than 800 events.

In practice, Novaja Ziamlia continues activities that are currently impossible or unsafe in Belarus: independent education, cultural and educational initiatives, support for political prisoners and their families, and the preservation of Belarusian identity and ties among Belarusians.

The Novaja Ziamlia Hub can be supported through donations. Regular support is especially important — even small monthly contributions can help the hub continue its work.
