Belarusian Health Minister Aliaksandr Khajayeu met with Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Nur Jalal Jalali, who is in Belarus on an official visit. The sides discussed cooperation in healthcare, according to a statement from the Afghan side.

The meeting focused on supplies of medicines to Afghanistan and providing the country with medical equipment. The ministers also discussed professional development for healthcare workers and the exchange of scientific information and research findings, the Afghan ministry’s press service reported.

Jalali said Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health was interested in cooperating with other countries to strengthen its healthcare system. According to the Afghan side, Khajayeu expressed Belarus’ readiness to expand cooperation in the areas discussed.

Following the meeting, the ministers agreed to develop bilateral cooperation. The statement did not provide information about any documents signed, specific supply volumes or implementation timelines.

Belarusian state media and the press service of Belarus’ Ministry of Health have not reported on the visit by Taliban representatives.
