Belarusian Ambassador to Georgia Mikalai Rahashchuk held a meeting with the chairs of two Georgian parliamentary committees to discuss interparliamentary cooperation and the further development of bilateral contacts.
On July 22, Rahashchuk met with Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, and Irakli Kadagishvili, Chair of the Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government and head of the parliamentary friendship group with the National Assembly of Belarus.
The sides discussed current issues of interparliamentary cooperation and identified priority areas for its further development. They also reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening ties between the two parliaments, expanding regular contacts, exchanging experience, and cooperating within international parliamentary organizations.
“The parties agreed to intensify working-level contacts aimed at further developing a constructive political dialogue and strengthening cooperation between the friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.
